Netflix iPad Customers stay tuned for iPhone and iPod Application as well

One of the best apps available for Apple’s new iPad at launch was a Netflix application that enables Netflix subscribers to view a television shows and movies on the device. Netflix Vice President of corporate communications Steve Swasey has confirmed the company has planned to bring Netflix as one of the applications for iPhone and iPod touch as well.
No fixed dates have yet been announced —such as whether the iPhone version would enable users to stream video to the device over 3G data service rather than only via Wi-Fi.
If the application would follow Netflix’s pattern for offering streaming to other devices and services, users will not have to pay separately to stream Netflix content to their iPhones. Since, it’s an amazing iPad app and it is hoped to be rated as top iPhone application as well, once launched for iPhone.
So far, Netflix has bundled all streaming into its existing subscription plans, rather than binding them to a particular device or platform. Customer who subscribe to Netflix and are eligible for streaming service can tap into it from any Netflix-capable device, whether that be a TiVo set-top box, a PC, and iPad, or something else. There are rumors that whether this would be one of the iphone 3g applications or it will also support simple iphone.
Given that no date and capabilities have been announced, some industry watchers speculate a Netflix application may be on tap for Apple’s April 8 press event to preview iPhone OS 4.
